Julia Argentina Rodríguez Pastor
General Health Psychologist (Lic. M-35887)
I am a psychologist trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with a specialisation in Contextual Therapies (ACT, DBT and FAP). My work is grounded in behavioural analysis and in the understanding that human behaviour can only be understood within its context: biographical, relational, social and cultural.
I support people living with depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, loss of sense of purpose or personality patterns that cause them suffering.
I understand therapy as a shared learning process. We work together to understand how we have learned to function and how our habits can change through awareness and kindness. I want people to be able to continue caring for their mental health long after therapy ends.
Mindfulness runs through my work as an attitude: being present, with curiosity and without struggle. The goal is not to control emotions, but to learn to live alongside them and act in line with the values that give meaning to life.
I work in Spanish and English, in person and online. Warm, clear, with humour when it helps and with deep respect for diversity.

Approach
I would describe myself as a warm, honest and authentic therapist. Therapy is a meeting space where we learn to look at ourselves with more understanding and less judgement. I work from a behavioural and contextual foundation with a focus on psychological flexibility and functional awareness. My perspective embraces diversity, understanding that distress arises within social, cultural and structural contexts.
How I work
- 1. Assessment and contextual understanding of the problem.
- 2. Psychoeducation about mental functioning and learned patterns.
- 3. Training in mindfulness, acceptance and emotional regulation (through coexistence, not control).
- 4. Identification of personal values and coherent action.
- 5. Integration, autonomy and sustainable self-care.
Ethical code
To support each person with warmth, authenticity and humour. To embrace the diversity and uniqueness of each individual. To listen without judgement, with respect and transparency. To promote autonomy, self-compassion and awareness. To work only with evidence-based tools. To collaborate and refer when necessary. To maintain confidentiality and ongoing professional development.
Learning to live with what we feel, living in accordance with what we value, and taking care of ourselves in a more conscious and healthy way.
